This week I’m still plant crazy! But my plants need pretty homes, so I gave some plain terracotta pots an easy makeover.

Methods:
1. If your pots are dirty or have price-tag residue, wash them thoroughly with soap and water and allow to dry. Then coat them on the exterior and interior with two thin layers of clear sealer. It’s important to seal the inside, too, otherwise your paint may peel or bubble.

2. After your sealer has dried, paint your pots with several layers of paint, allowing each one to dry between applications.

3. After you’ve applied your base color to a nice even level, you can add other colors and designs. I taped off the bottom third of one pot and painted it blue.

4. For another pot, I drew a crescent moon motif on a piece of foam. Then I cut it out with scissors and glued it to a rectangle of foam as a backing. After it had dried, I used it to stamp the design onto my pot, then I touched it up with a small brush.

5. I decided to paint a third pot, which I gave a mint stripe around the top rim. Allow all the paint to dry, then coat with a layer of clear sealer. Allow that layer to dry.

6. Add potting soil and small plants to your pots.

Remember to provide your plants with plenty of water, sunshine, and love ;-)
